Educational Games Video

Educational Games Video
This video includes a discussion of the opportunities that exist for major game developers to create educational content. Some of the reasons mentioned for the lack of development include the popularity of violence in games and false notions that there is no market for educational games and educational games cannot be engaging. They go on to discuss the importance of educating school administrators, teachers, and parents about how some video games are aligned with state educational standards to help challenge they myth that games do not have educational value. The video shows some examples of educational computer games that simulate the Revolutionary War and WWII to teach about history, politics and economics.
