The Education Arcade and the Electronic Entertainment Expo
Here's a site we should all bookmark: The Education Arcade is an international consortium of international game designers, publishers, scholars, educators, and policy makers who want to change the way we learn through computer and video games.
There's lots of stuff on this web site but the big announcement is that, lead by a group from MIT, they will host a 3 day educational games conference in Los Angeles on May 9-11 2004 as part of the Electronic Entertainment Exposition. The best news...the conference is FREE and open to the public. Topics include Are Games Educational? From Simulation to Interaction; Fostering Games Literacy; Building Partnerships Among Universities, Industry, and Public Institutions; Making Tools for Making Games; Commercial and Educational Successes; New Collaborators: Making the Next Move; Roundtables on Educational, Technical, Creative, and Market Trends.
Should we plan a car pool now?
